My recent Iron Butt ride attempts have been verified.

Relax, this post will be much shorter than the last few have been.
Earlier this month I received the second of the two Iron Butt Association ride certificates that were associated with a ride I took over the summer. Back in September I briefly mentioned these rides as a part of my trip to see my brother in Tucson, AZ (Read Post). The rides I completed were the SaddleSore 1000, which requires the motorcycle rider to cover at least 1,000 miles in no more than 24 hours, and the Bun Burner 1500, which requires the rider to cover 1,500 miles in no more than 36 hours.
The first of the two rides, the SaddleSore 1000, was completed when I covered 1,030 miles in 17.5 hours. That ride was a piece of cake.
The second ride, the Bun Burner 1500, was completed when I added 522 more miles the next day.
I did stop for sleep after the original 1030 miles, but even so those last 522 miles were a bit arduous. I was quite glad to have that segment out of the way, at least as far as the timed ride went. I was able to relax and enjoy the last hour and a half of the ride at my own pace, which was quite nice. I already have a plan in my head for a 2,000 mile/48 hour ride, if I can find time.
See, that wasn’t too long, was it?
